Description

Rostil “P” dissolves rust completely and offers full protection against new formation of rust. Rostil “P” is an uninflammable, inodorous, water clear liquid. Though only moderately corrosive, it is advisable to protect hands and eyes while working with it.

Instructions for use

• Iron surfaces to be treated with Rostil “P” must be free from grease and oil.
• For their removal, the use of water- soluble detergents is recommended.
• Remaining spots and flaking layers of paint should be removed in order to ensure a uniform and evenly acting effect of Rostil “P”.

Applications

• When applied by brush, Rostil “p” is used in undiluted form and to saturation.
• In treatment by immersion, Rostil “P” is diluted in the proportion of 2:5 (two volume parts of Rostil “P” to five volume parts of water). In both procedures the effectiveness of Rostil “P” can be considerably enhanced by warming.
• Temperature must not exceed + 90 °C (= 194 °F.)
• After treatment, a dull-grey protective coating is formed on the iron surfaces that must not be

removed. This coating will create a stronger adhesive force to all of paints applied afterwards

and will protect remained unpainted iron against oxidation provided they do not come into contact with water.

• In case of Rostil “P” has been applied in some places with the brush, so that the grey protective coating does not become dry, then, excess can be washed off with water. It is then recommended however to apply paint immediately after drying.

Note

Rostil “P” should be stored only in glass, plastic or earthenware containers.
